Subject: Help: Making TeX, no .pool files
Thank you Dirk for responding to my help request. Just to follow the same
steps I did when I wanted to make and install TeX, I cleaned up the residual
stuff from previous attempts in the directories. The following is the
script of my new attemp. I am still getting the error "mf.pool" is not
there. I am also sending this message to tex-k@cs.umb.edu
& karl@cs.umb.edu for their help.
I can't get the mf.pool and tex.pool created. I looked at tex-k-archive
there was an entry for the similar problem but the solution does not apply
to my situtation.
I am running on (uname -a)
SunOS myhost 4.1.3 1 sun4m
The directory that I have chosen for the final resting place of the
product is
/usr/local/src/TeX
I have already untarred the lib.tar.gz into <lib> subdirectory of the above
/usr/local/src/TeX/lib/texmf/....
When I untarred the web and web2c they went into
/MyNetDIR/web2c-6.1
Although it is stated the path change (prefix) in the top level directory
is sufficient, I don't believe that. So changed the path in all of the
Makefile.in. BTW what about the use of include $TOP/Make.cfg directive
in all of the makefiles to have the directory names and other goodies
rather than passing them as a command line arguments?
Now would somebody please help!!!!!!
Regards,
Ali Sobhi
